If you really want the best version of the Alpine A110, then the R Ultime is the answer but it costs as much as a supercar. Here is everything you need to know.
The Alpine A110 Ultime will only be limited to 110 units.
The Alpine A110 is the ultimate drivers car but is it enough to demand supercar money. The new Alpine A110 R Ultime costs €330,000 (around Rs 3 crore). Alpine has added some extreme mods but it still doesn’t justify the price in our minds but special editions can demand as much money as customers are ready to pay for but we are not sure if there are 110 people willing to spend that much money on something which is based on a car only costing around €65,000.
To start with the R Ultime receives an all new bodykit. There is a carbon fibre splitter, winglets on the front bumper to aid aero, a different hood with more venting, carbon fibre side skirts, a rear diffuser which is quite extreme and also made of carbon fibre and a rear spoiler which would look at home in early Fast and Furious movies. The rear window also doesn’t exist because race cars don’t need to see backwards. The full aero kit gives it 160 kgs more downforce at max speed when compared to the A110 R Turini.
It gets Ohlin’s dampers, 330mm AP Racing brakes with additional brake ducts to aid cooling, staggered forged rims which measure 18-inch up front and 19-inch on the back and are wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tyres. It also gets a Akrapovic titanium exhaust.
Do not worry, you also get extra power for the money you pay. The engine is the same 1.8L turbocharged unit we have seen in the Megane RS and it produces 345 bhp as opposed to 300 bhp and the torque number remains the same at 420 Nm. The gearbox is also a six-speed unit as opposed to the 7-speed unit to handle all the extra power. It will do 0-100 kmph in a mere 3.8 seconds.
The Ultime La Bleue is the the ultimate of the ultimate special editions and features a fading blue paint which goes from Alpine Vision Blue to Abysse Blue in one smooth transition. The interior features Poltrona Faru and Sabelt Blue leather. Alpine will make only 15 of the La Bleue versions and a total of 110 units of the Ultime version.
