The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad has suggested banning of ‘non-Sanatanis’ from setting up of food stall in 2025 Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh’s holy city of Prayagraj.

Prayagraj: The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad has proposed the banning of ‘non-Sanatanis’ from setting up of food stall in 2025 Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh’s holy city of Prayagraj. The Parishad on Wednesday also said that it will pass a resolution regarding this Diwali. It will then be submitted to state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his clearance.

Speaking to news agency PTI, the Akhara Parishad chief Ravindra Puri several incidents have come to light in recent past including mixing of urine in juice, spitting in food, among others. Since those participating in the Mela will be Hindus, it won’t be tolerated if some similar kind of incidents happen.

Some Urdu terms likely to be changed to Hindi

Puri also said that during the month long event, some of the Urdu terms will be changed to Hindi, like ‘Shahi Snan’ to ‘Rajsi Snan’ and ‘Peshwai’ ‘Chhavni Pravesh’ respectively. He also said that use of Hindi has been going on for centuries as a tradition. Sharing a further details, the body said that a proposal was at meeting to change the names. The chief minister has been informed about it and a formal announcement in this regard will be made soon.

More proposals suggested by the body

Among the other proposals suggested by the body include deployment of officials and policemen who do not consume any form meat or drink alcohol. This will help in maintaining the ‘integrity’ of the fair.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Kumbh Mela) Rajesh Dwivedi noted that the Maha Kumbh is a religious festival . When consumoing meat and drinking alhohol is prohibited in the entire area the policemen are also expected not to consume them.
