Jammu and Kashmir Vidhan Sabha Chunav Result 2024, ECI Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election Results 2024 Today Live Updates: The results of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will be declared today, with the counting of votes to begin at 7.30 am. The Union Territory has 90 assembly seats, and the elections were conducted in three phases. Voting for the first phase took place on September 18, followed by the second phase on September 25 and the final phase on October 1. A voter turnout of 63.88 percent was recorded in these elections.

This assembly election is significant as it is the first one in Jammu and Kashmir in nearly 10 years. The last election was held in 2014, where no party secured an absolute majority. Elections were supposed to take place in 2019, but before that, the central government abolished Article 370 in August, making Jammu and Kashmir a union territory.

This election is crucial for both the opposition parties and BJP. Parties like the Congress-National Conference, PDP and several regional leaders are in the fray.

    Most of the exit polls that came out for Jammu and Kashmir did not show any possibility of any party getting an absolute majority. BJP may get 20-25 seats while the Congress-NC alliance may get 30-40 seats. However, in one or two surveys, the Congress-NC alliance has been shown to be close to the majority. At the same time, PDP is expected to get 4-7 seats and others are expected to get 8-15 seats.

    Jammu and Kashmir Vidhan Sabha Chunav Result 2024: Fate of these leaders is at stake

    In Jammu and Kashmir, the fate of many leaders from BJP to NC and PDP is at stake. BJP’s state president Ravinder Raina is contesting from Nowshera assembly seat of Rajouri district. Raina is pitted against PDP’s Haq Nawaz. Ravinder Raina had won from here in the 2014 assembly elections. On the other hand, National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah is contesting from two seats this time. One of them is Ganderbal Singh, where he is directly pitted against PDP’s Bashir Ahmed Mir. Omar Abdullah’s second seat is Budgam. Here he is pitted against Aga Saeed Muntazir Mehdi.
