New Delhi: Manish Malhotra’s much-anticipated Namo Bharat fashion show took place on Tuesday, with Bollywood stars Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri as the showstoppers, stealing the spotlight with their stunning looks. Organised by the Indian Minorities Foundation, the Namo Bharat: Walk for Courage, Walk for Service, and Walk for Heritage event was a tribute to India’s rich heritage and a celebration of survival, courage, and craftsmanship.

This event was part of the Sewa Pakhwada, a 15-day celebration from September 17 to October 2, marking the 74th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The fashion show, held at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, was a homage to PM Modi’s vision of ‘Sewa, Sahas, and Sanskriti’ (Service, Courage, and Heritage). The Namo Bharat show beautifully showcased India’s rich textile heritage, featuring traditional styles and textiles that have been passed down through generations.

A Stunning Display of Indian Craftsmanship

The show highlighted Manish Malhotra’s latest collection, Evara, which celebrated India’s vibrant textile legacy. The collection embraced handloom textiles, traditional zardozi work, and the intricate craftsmanship of zari embroidery. Manish Malhotra expressed on Instagram, “This fashion show transcends style – it celebrates our rich textile heritage and honours the incredible journeys of survivors.”

Kartik Aaryan, known for his role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, looked regal in a captivating black sherwani with exquisite ivory dori work. His outfit, complete with an asymmetric black kurta and trousers, exuded sophistication and royalty.

Triptii Dimri was the epitome of elegance, dazzling in a gulabi Banarasi brocade lehenga with gold and silver zardozi borders, paired with a handwoven Banarasi dupatta. Her bridal-inspired look was completed with grand Manish Malhotra jewellery, adding to her graceful and regal appearance.

Other Celebrity Appearances

The Namo Bharat fashion show also saw other Bollywood stars grace the runway. Sonali Bendre wore a timeless dual-tone saree in green and red, with a beautifully embroidered drape, while Hina Khan stunned the audience in a pastel pink tulle kurta, paired with brocade pants and a dual-tone embroidered tulle dupatta.

Each of these exquisite pieces reflected Manish Malhotra’s commitment to showcasing Indian craftsmanship, paying tribute to the timeless beauty of India’s textile traditions.

A Tribute to Survivors

Beyond the fashion, the event was a heartfelt tribute to the courage and resilience of cancer and terror attack survivors. Manish Malhotra used his platform to honour their journeys, reflecting on the strength it takes to overcome adversity. The message of the show, inspired by PM Modi’s vision, was clear: India’s heritage is as much about its rich history as it is about the people who continue to fight and survive.
