New Delhi: The excitement surrounding the upcoming film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, is palpable as it gears up for its theatrical release next month. The film’s captivating trailer and catchy songs have captured the audience’s attention. However, the project has recently hit a snag, landing in legal trouble over claims of plagiarism.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video in legal trouble over plagiarism

Reportedly, producers Gul Bano Khan and Sanjay Tiwari have issued a legal notice against the makers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. In an interview with IANS, Gul Bano revealed that the film’s central idea was registered by her in 2015 with the Screen Writers Association (SWA). “The film was supposed to be produced by Sanjay Tiwari, but it got delayed for various reasons,” she explained. The notice has been sent to several parties involved in the production, including T-Series, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wake Films LLP, Kathvachak Films, and AA Films Private Limited.

The legal notice claims that the storyline of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video closely resembles a concept that Gul Bano and Sanjay Tiwari created in 2015, initially titled Sex Hai Toh Life Hai. The original plot revolves around a couple who accidentally misplaced a private DVD containing their intimate moments, leading to a series of chaotic and comedic situations as they attempt to recover it before it is viewed by unintended parties.

Gul Bano has also reached out to the Screen Writers Association, seeking to file a dispute against the filmmakers. She shared a copy of the legal notice with IANS.
