Hero debuts the new Xtreme 250R and Karizma XMR 250 motorcycles at EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy.
New Delhi: Hero has unveiled two new 250cc motorcycles. The first one is a completely new Xtreme 250R which will be the naked version rivalling the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar and KTM 200 Duke while the other is the same old Karizma XMR 250 which has a new engine. Both the motorcycles were unveiled at EICMA 2024 which is taking place in Milan, Italy.
The Karizma XMR is very similar in design to the 210 model but has a new livery. There are new winglets up front, and the tank also features some matte black elements. The Xtreme 250 R on the other hand is all new and gets a single LED headlight up front, and since it is a naked, more of the motorcycle is visible. At the rear, Hero has given the Xtreme 250 R a swingarm mounted number plate holder.
The New 250cc Engine
Hero has given both the Xtreme 250 R and the Karizma XMR 250 a new engine. They have essentially bored out the 210cc engine which was previously powering the Karizma XMR. The head remains the same but the crack cases have are all new. The 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine now makes 30 bhp and 25 Nm of torque.
Hero has also added USD front forks on both the motorcycles and we expect them to have an all-new colour TFT dash with ride modes, switchable ABS, and smartphone connectivity.
Launch and Pricing
There is currently no word on the launch of the vehicle or pricing but we expect it to come to your nearest showrooms by early next year. As far as pricing goes, the current XMR is priced at around Rs 1.84 lakh (ex-showroom) and we expect the new models to be a little more expensive than before and be priced around Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
