Appasaheb Jagdale, the disgruntled party leader has announced his decision to support the Ajit Pawar-led faction’s candidate, ahead of Maharashtra Assembly Elections.

Mumbai: In a major shock for NCP (SCP), Appasaheb Jagdale, the disgruntled party leader has announced his decision to support the Ajit Pawar-led faction’s candidate, ahead of the Assembly Elections in Maharashtra. The state is going to polls on November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.

According to a report by TV9 Marathi, Jagdale had expressed his unhappiness over the candidature of NCP (SCP) leader Harshvardhan Patil from the Indapur seat. Reports also suggest that NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar was in Indapur earlier in the day. But, as soon as he left, Jagdale announced his decision to support NCP (Ajit Pawar) candidate Dattatraya Bharane

Ajit Pawar to campaign for party candidate

Jagdale has not only supported Dattatraya Bharane but there are also reports that he might also campaign for Bharane in this election. Jagdale’s decision has led to a major setback for NCP (SCP ) in the election. During his visit to Indapur on Sunday, Sharad Pawar met party leaders, who were unhappy over the party’s decision to give the ticket to Patil. Pawar, however, avoided meeting Jagdale and rebel candidate Praveen Mane.

The election battle is between two alliances

This time, the fight in the Maharashtra assembly elections is mainly between two alliances. On one side is the ruling Mahayuti. Which includes Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, BJP, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP. On the other side is Mahavikas Aghadi which includes Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar’s NCP, and Congress. The seat-sharing formula has also been finalised by the political parties and the names of the candidates have been announced
