The Swadeshi Mela 2024 will be held from October 23 to 27 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road. Organised by the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch and Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan, the event promotes local entrepreneurs and MSMEs, fostering self-reliance among citizens.

Hyderabad: The long-awaited Swadeshi Mela 2024 is just around the corner, scheduled to take place from October 23 to 27 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road. Organised by the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) and Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan, this vibrant event aims to spotlight India’s local entrepreneurs and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), while promoting self-reliance among citizens.

Attendees can look forward to a remarkable showcase of Bharatiya products that blend tradition with modernity. The Mela will feature offerings from large, medium, small-scale, and cottage industries, highlighting everything from exquisite handicrafts to advanced electronics and innovative IT solutions. This year’s event promises to illustrate the incredible diversity and creativity within India’s indigenous sectors.

Exhibition catered with range of cultural events

In addition to product displays, the Mela will host a variety of cultural events, seminars, workshops, and training programs aimed at fostering appreciation for Swadeshi products in the contemporary economy. Visitors can expect an extensive range of items, including consumer electronics, self-help group (SHG) products, and Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) offerings that celebrate India’s rich heritage.

The event will also showcase a captivating array of handmade jewelry, healthcare products, handlooms, and traditional handicrafts. Ayurvedic and yoga centers, along with furniture displays, will add to the experience. Food lovers can indulge in an assortment of baked goods, spice preserves, and everyday consumer products. Essential service sectors such as healthcare, kitchen appliances, real estate, and electrical fittings will also be represented, alongside stalls from government departments, NGOs, and national tourism.

Mega Job Fair to be hosted on October 23

Adding to the excitement, the SJM and SBA will host a Mega Job Fair on October 23 at the same venue, in collaboration with Sewa International and Nipuna Human Development Society. Kicking off at 9 AM, the job fair will bring together over 100 companies from sectors such as IT, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, and banking, offering more than 10,000 job opportunities. Candidates of all qualifications—from 10th grade to M.Tech—are encouraged to attend and explore potential career paths.
