New Delhi: Aston Villa will be going face to face against the German giants Bayern Munich tonight. Both teams in their league are in a fantastic position and are playing some pretty good football on the pitch. Villa have made enormous strides under Unai Emery, and on Matchday 1, they defeated Young Boys in their Champions League comeback. Against Bayern, they’ll try to build on their outstanding performance.
Bayern’s attacking unit is playing with much more confidence thanks to Vincent Kompany, as they have destroyed opponents in their past games and are currently scoring a lot of goals. They drew 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, and they triumphed 9-2 against Dinamo Zagreb, in their previous UCL match. There’s little doubt that this matchup against Villa on the road will be exciting.

This is more than just a fixture considering the fact that there is a lot of past between the two sides. It was back in the year 1982 when the Villans defeated the formidable German giants, to lift the European cup in Rotterdam. It would be a special game for Aston Villa as they made their return to the competiton after 42 years and, and the second matchday of Champions League reignites their rivalry with the six time title winners.
This might just be the perfect opportunity for Bayern Munich to get their score even with the English underdogs as they look to continue their unbelievable start to this season’s Champions League. It will be an exciting game to watch as the two sides met yet again in a big European competition after more than 40 years. Aston Villa surprisingly have a great record against Bayern in European competitions.
However, things have changed over the years and despite the fact that Villa have been one of the emerging teams in Europe, there is no doubt about the fact that Bayern are a force to compete with. Both the teams will be looking to continue their good start to the campaign, which may produce a great game of football tonight.
